CNY came and went......

Today is the 7th day after CNY (according to the lunar calendar) so it's everyone's bday...so happy birthday to me!!! I used to like CNY as it's a time to get lots and lots of angbao but now, I have to give them out becoz I'm married and wz a kid...sigh, so it's like I don't get any at all. Oh well, at least it's once a year thing.

On the other hand, I have gotten my PC. yup yup, now I'm typing all these from home, and I'm so happy to have my very own PC. But the memory is damn slow so I got my brother to help me get a 1GB RAM and he gotten it for me and install the additional RAM for me, so now it's like 1.2 GB of RAM. I am so,so happy that my PC can work at the same speed that I'm used to, as my office PC is very fast also. So at least, that is a good improvement.

Take yesterday for instance. I was on MC and didn't go into the office. As usual, there are important things for me to do and I'm also helping the conference manager with the upcoming conference. She needed a list urgently and so I just updated some things and sent it off to her. This morning, when I checked my email, there were more things from her and she was also asking about one of the speaker's photo. So I replied that he have sent his photo over and I'm still waiting for another speaker to send. She then replied that she is very happy that I'm still working from home even though I'm on MC. Duh??? If I dun do that, later she will say why am I not replying my mails?? Sigh, it's just so diffcult....

Anyway, I will need to clean up the rest of the house before going out for dinner wz my in laws...so hopefully this will be a good weekend....

1st day of CNY.....

Today is the first day of Chinese New Year and it was so tiring...Went to church in the morning with parents and after that to grandpa's place. But on the way there, Marc called Mel and found out that mom had forgotten to turn off the fire while reheating the curry, so the whole place was so smoky that he had to open all the windows to air the place. Lucky he was at home if not, the whole place would be burnt down. So the lesson is never rush an old lady, for she may forget to turn off the fire and the whole house will be burnt down. After reaching grandpa's place, we had a small meal. Honestly, her cooking sucks to the core and I didn't really eat much. Then it was off to Yipor's place for lunch. Now she is a good cook that every year I just look forward to her cooking. Then after a heavy lunch, rested for a while before heading down to Joo Chiat Terrace. That's where hubby's grandpa's popiah store is. For those who wants to get popiah skin, go down to 95 Joo Chiat Place. They sell handmade popiah skin and it's quite famous for those who stay at the East. I also found out that hubby's grandma is a Nonya. So he has peranakan blood in him, which makes him a half baba. That means my princess is 1/5 bibik. Why 1/5 u ask? Well, she has hokkien, hakka, shanghainese, cantonese and peranakan blood in her. But I guess it would be more as I suspect on my mom's side of the family, there is a hint of eurasian relations....but if I really want to find out, then I would have to start digging up my family tree. So after that, my bro-in-law brought us to Upper Thomson road for prata @ Casurina Curry...

So basically, it's been a really busy day...tomorrow would be worse as in the morning, we will be going down to Clementi. Then after that, I need to call my mom to see if she is going to Ang Mo Kio, as grandaunt's is staying there. So we might head there after lunch..which means another round of rushing...sigh....

Fiery temper.....

I realised that my lil princess have a really fiery temper. Why? Becoz yesterday, she went to scold another lady for putting her son onto the kiddy ride, which she had wanted to sit. What happen was we went to Suntec for the porridge buffet and after lunch, we decided to take a walk to Marina Square. So when I passed by Gain City, I saw that they were selling a standing fan for only $19 and lil princess's room needs a fan, so I told hubby to go ahead to the playarea in front of Kiddy Palace and I will join them later. After buying the fan, lil princess came up to me and ask me for money. I was puzzled until hubby also came to me and said she needed a $1 coin for the ride. I checked my wallet but can't find one so I told her I don't have. Then my dad came over and she went to ask from him as well. Grandpa also said that he didn't have and that's when she saw another lady approaching the ride. She then proceed to put her son onto the ride and that's when she told the lady "Excuse me!" But the lady ignored her and that's when she started to scold the lady in her baby language. Me and hubby were so shocked by that outburst, so he quickly took her away to the other kiddy ride. Never did I imagine that there is a volcano under that innocent and cute face. So I just that in future, the guys she would be dating better be careful not to make her angry!!!

CNY is coming....and my house is not packed yet!!!!!!

Chinese New year is less than 2 wks away and I have not done any spring cleaning yet!!! Well technically, I have unpacked my boxes from my store room when I first moved to my place, which was 2 yrs ago but there is just too much things to be done. Looks like this weekend is burnt again...it's not easy having to pack the place alone when lil princess is home with me. Well, I guess I have to learn to adjust...

On the other hand, I managed to bake a decent bunch of hazelnut cookies. It was not bad for a first attempt. So I will be trying it again this weekend, hoping it would be much better than last weekend.... :)
